Founder and Owner
Dr. Michael Sclafani has advanced training and experience in the fields of sports medicine and orthopedics. He is one of only two board-certified Sports Clinical Specialists in the area. After graduating from the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at the University of Cincinnati, he completed a prestigious sports medicine residency at the Cleveland Clinic. While in Cleveland he served as one of the medical providers for St. Edwards High School and John Carroll University in addition to working with the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Cleveland Indians. It was during his sports medicine residency that he discovered the sport of CrossFit.
After completing his sports medicine residency, Dr. Michael was recruited to a sports medicine hospital in Denver. He served as the medical director for the Queen City Rugby Club and also worked with the Denver Major League Rugby team. During this time he was also the Vice Chair for the Sports Special Interest Group for the Colorado Physical Therapy Association.
Upon moving to southeast Florida, Dr. Michael served as contributing faculty for the University of St. Augustine Doctor of Physical Therapy program. He then worked within the Sports Health department at the Cleveland Clinic Florida, where he began a research study to identify injury risk predictors in CrossFit athletes. Outside of his clinical responsibilities, Dr. Michael served as the Chair for the Southeast District of the Florida Physical Therapy Association. He also continues to serve as the Vice Chair for the Orthopedic & Sports Special Interest Group.
After relocating to the gulf coast, Dr. Sclafani founded Tideline Sports Performance & Rehabilitation to serve the athletes and other active adults in the Sarasota/Bradenton community. He is an instructor for the Dry Needling Seminars for the Florida Institute of Manual Therapy Institute. Dr. Michael is also a business consultant for other similar practices across the country. He remains active with weightlifting, applying knowledge and expertise as a former rugby strength & conditioning coach.

Dr. Jaime Loomis, DPT
Lead Clinician
Dr. Jaime Loomis has a passion for helping active individuals of all ages and backgrounds perform their best. Her journey into the world of sports rehabilitation began at the age of 16 when she experienced a neck injury while participating in water sports. Faced with nerve pain radiating down her arm, she worked with an amazing sports medicine physical therapist, where she not only found relief but also discovered a profound calling. Inspired by her own success in managing pain and maintaining an active lifestyle, Dr. Jaime pursued a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Northwestern University.
As a multi-sport athlete and avid fitness enthusiast, Dr. Jaime understands the unique challenges that come with an active lifestyle. Having personally overcome a herniated disc in her low back, she is well-versed in utilizing the McKenzie Method and other techniques to self-manage and continue participating in her favorite sports and activities.
With experience spanning from the east and west coasts of Florida to Hawaii, Dr. Jaime brings a diverse and enriched perspective to patient care. During her time in Vero Beach she started her own practice and provided sports medicine care to the Vero Beach Volleyball Team and the Vero Elite Volleyball Academy. She conducted preseason screens for both teams with an emphasis on reducing non-contact lower extremity injuries, such as ACL tears and ankle sprains. Dr. Jaime also started her own trademarked spinal alignment system called BAlign. She currently has two patent-pending tools that are designed to improve spinal alignment and spinal mobility, decrease low back pain, and improve muscle output and athletic performance.
Her commitment to helping others achieve their optimal physical selves is evident in her approach. She specializes in comprehensive full-body assessments, identifying specific weaknesses and asymmetries that may contribute to injuries in both weekend warriors and high-level athletes. She is also certified in dry needling.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Jaime finds joy in playing beach volleyball, waterskiing, and exploring the world through travel. Her love for her golden retriever, Avi, is matched only by her passion for her career. Sports medicine is not just a profession for her; it's a calling, and this is reflected in her commitment to making a positive impact on her patients here at Tideline Sports Performance.
